LSWT is Cutting Edge Shockwave Therapy

TriForce Wave Therapy is offering the newest technology in shockwave therapy. There are many types of wave therapy in use but not all are effective for certain applications.

The majority of clinics offering what they call “Acoustic Wave Therapy” as Extracorporeal Wave Therapy or ESWT are offering radial wave therapy. This type of soundwave therapy only works on tissues just beneath the skin.

Focused Shockwave therapy is a stronger type of wave therapy that penetrates deeper into the tissue, up to 12 inches, to help alleviate pain and stimulated blood vessel growth.

At TriForce Wave Therapy we utilize a new form of Shockwave Therapy called Linear Shockwave Therapy. This form of Shockwave Therapy penetrates up to 1.5 inches into the tissue, but the Linear application means it treats a much larger surface area of tissue resulting in much better outcomes for patients and making in the perfect application for treatment of erectile dysfunction.

Due to it’s effectiveness and large surface area coverage the treatments using Linear Shockwave Therapy are much shorter, anywhere from 5-15 minutes and they are painless for the patient unlike Acoustic Wave/Radial Wave Therapy which often requires use of numbing creams.

Currently we use Linear Wave Therapy for treatment of Erectile Dysfunction but we plan to add other applications to treat muscle pain, joint pain and plantar fasciitis in the near future.

Linear Shockwave Treatment for Erectile Dysfunction

Focused versus Linear Shockwave Erectile Dysfunction

As seen on the image to the right, radial or focused shockwave treats pinpoint area of the penis. When we are treating blood vessels, which are long and linear, you can see how this may not be the most effective option.

Also consider that most clinics offering shockwave treatment are using radial waves which are too shallow to have the optimal effect.

TriForce Wave Therapy uses the techniques in B and C of the image to the left to provide complete coverage of the blood vessels of the penis and area of the crura and prostate to stimulate blood vessel growth where you need it to regain the blood flow you previously had, allowing for much greater improvement in erectile function.

Causes of Erectile Dysfunction

Erectile dysfunction (ED) can have multiple causes. Here are some of the most common:

  1. Physical factors: Several physical factors can contribute to ED, including heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, high cholesterol, and smoking. Other factors include hormonal imbalances, prostate surgery, and pelvic injuries.

  2. Psychological factors: Psychological issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, and relationship problems can all contribute to ED.

  3. Medications: Certain medications, such as antidepressants, antihistamines, and blood pressure medications, can cause ED as a side effect.

  4. Substance abuse: Alcohol, tobacco, and illicit drug use can all contribute to ED.

  5. Neurological disorders: Neurological disorders such as multiple sclerosis and Parkinson's disease can cause ED by interfering with the signals between the brain and the penis.

  6. Aging: As men age, they may experience a decline in sexual function due to decreased testosterone levels and other age-related changes in the body.

  7. Peyronie's disease: Peyronie's disease is a condition in which scar tissue forms inside the penis, causing it to curve and making erections painful or difficult.

  8. Blood vessel disorders: Conditions that affect the blood vessels, such as atherosclerosis, can reduce blood flow to the penis and cause ED.

Linear Shockwave therapy is primarily used to treat vasculogenic ED, which is a problem with blood flow. Improving your overall health, along with Linear Shockwave therapy, can greatly improve your ability to get and maintain erections.

FAQs

Q: What is linear shockwave therapy?

A: Linear shockwave therapy (LSWT) is a non-invasive treatment for erectile dysfunction that uses low-intensity shockwaves to stimulate the growth of new blood vessels and improve blood flow to the penis.

Q: How does LSWT work?

A: LSWT works by using a handheld device that emits low-intensity linear shockwaves to the penis. The shockwaves stimulate the growth of new blood vessels and improve blood flow to the penis, which can lead to improved erectile function.

Q: Is LSWT painful?

A: LSWT is generally well-tolerated and not considered painful. Some patients may experience mild discomfort during the procedure, but this usually subsides quickly.

Q: How long does the LSWT procedure take? A: The LSWT procedure typically takes around 5-15 minutes to complete.

Q: How many LSWT sessions are required?

A: Typically, a course of LSWT treatment consists of six sessions, with each session taking place about a week apart but they can also be performed twice a week for 3 weeks.

Q: How long does it take to see results from LSWT?

A: Many patients begin to see improvements in their erectile function within a few weeks of starting LSWT treatment. However, it may take several months to see the full effects of the treatment.

Q: How long do the effects from LSWT last?

A: Most patients will enjoy the benefits from LSWT treatment for erectile dysfunction for 6 months to a few years, it varies based on age and overall health of the patient. We do offer maintenance treatments which you can keep up with annually to maintain your ability to have erections. These are offered to existing patients at a reduced rate.

Q: Is LSWT safe?

A: LSWT is generally considered safe and does not have any significant side effects. However, as with any medical procedure, there is always a small risk of complications which are primarily short term, like bruising or soreness.

Q: Who is a good candidate for LSWT?

A: LSWT may be a good option for men who have mild to moderate erectile dysfunction and are looking for a non-invasive treatment option. It may not be suitable for men who have severe erectile dysfunction or who have underlying health conditions that may interfere with the treatment but most men some see degree of improvement. Request a consultation to review the best treatment plan for you.

Q: What are the potential benefits of LSWT?

A: The potential benefits of LSWT include improved erectile function, increased sexual satisfaction, and improved quality of life.
